How To Use Your Amazon Echos to Broadcast to All Devices

Amazon has released a new feature, called Alexa Announcements. Now you can simultaneously broadcast your voice to ALL your Alexa enabled devices in your home, all through one command.

Need to get the family together for dinner? Yell at the kids to get to bed? Or is your house so big you need to use your Amazon Echos as an intercom to page for your butler?

Now you can by saying any of the following three variants of the commands:

“Alexa, announce that…”

“Alexa, tell everyone…”

“Alexa, broadcast…”

The really smart part? Alexa will play a short jingle before the announcement, and the jingle will be contextual aware – which means that if you say:

“Alexa announce it’s time for bed”

It will play a short “twinkle twinkle little star” jingle before the announcement! Give it a try and be as amazed as we were.

“Alexa announce wake up” plays a rooster crowing sound!

Currently, it looks like only the supported Alexa devices are the official Amazon ones – the Echo, Echo Plus, Echo Dot, Echo Show, and Echo Spot. Not sure if support is planned to other Alexa devices as well in the future, but we’ll keep an eye out for you on Best Commands!

Alexa Announcements are also only available in the US and Canada at the moment, not in the UK or Europe or worldwide yet, so Amazon Alexa device owners in those countries will have a wait a little longer for it to roll out!
