OK, that’s rather cruel, because Cinderella was forced to slave day and night for her evil step-mother and step-sisters.
But here’s a neat trick if you own an iRobot Roomba vacuum cleaner, which is integrated with Alexa.
There’s the list of standard basic commands that you use your Roomba for, like :
“Alexa, ask Roomba to start cleaning.”
“Alexa, ask Roomba where it is.”
“Alexa, ask Roomba to pause vacuuming.”
Neat, but very standard, and you can find the whole list of usual commands on this iRobot-Alexa page.
But you can create your own Cinderella….
First, did you know you can give your devices nicknames in Alexa? That’s right! You can name your Roomba “Cinderella”, and use that name to trigger your Roomba. Suddenly, “Alexa, tell Cinderella to start cleaning” becomes possible! Other commands like “Alexa, have Cinderella go home.” make you sound like a fairy-tale pooper though.
And why stop at Cinderella, you can name your Roomba anything!
Other great names that iRobot Roomba owners have come up with for their vacuums are:
DJ Roomba, Dusty, Rosie, Dummy, and Alfred.
